Travel Funding for Africanist Students

The African Studies Center (ASC) has funds to provide partial support to MSU students conducting research about Africa with domestic travel expenses related to research and presenting at scholarly conferences. Funding amount is up to $1,000 but varies depending on event and availability of funds. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. Travel must be at the lowest, logical (considering cost and time) available airfare which is defined as coach and economy class.

Please include official notification from the conference organizers. An email or link to a website with the portion of the program involving you is sufficient. Title and abstract of your talk. Budget. Please send to ascfunds(at)msu.edu

Proposal:

If requesting funding for a scholarly activity, submit a proposal detailing:
1. Activities proposed for this trip
2. Outcomes expected for these activities and this trip
3. MSU faculty involved in the project
4. Department and/or college at MSU and outside of MSU you will collaborate with
5. Budget and requested amount.
